It’s a funny feeling. I’ve got so many finished projects to show you right now that I’m just randomly choosing quilts to blog about. Finishing up all these UFO’s has a double benefit, since it fits in with my nesting syndrome as well as giving me something to blog about once the baby is born. (any time now!)
I made this quilt top almost a year ago now, and then I later decided to add more cream colored squares around the edges to make it a queen size. It’s destined for someone special but she hasn’t received it yet because I want to add an embroidered label.
This is one of the three quilts that I splurged and got quilted at a long arm quilter. What an awesome experience! Only thing is that I really can’t afford to quilt if I get into the habit of this, so I guess it’s reserved for special occasions or special quilts! I really do enjoy quilting my own quilts, but when I see the beautiful even stitches and designs… This time I found a quilter in Calgary who I will definitely be using again.
So what more should I say about this quilt? The squares were 5″x5″. It ended up approximately queen size, although I haven’t measured it after I washed it.
The quilting is delicious! Yet another beautiful quilt 🙂 And good luck with baby!
You sure have been productive ! Blessings on your wee one. I hope we get to see wee toes….
I love this one! So pretty.
Beautifully made. I didn't realise it was so large at first.
I love it – must keep stashing more low volume fabrics as I would love to make on of these.
It's gorgeous! Really well done. I know what you mean about the expense of longarm quilting- that is why I rent one, but I know that's not available everywhere.
Such a beautiful quilt!
Love your quilt and the quilting is fabulous!
beautiful as always 🙂
Beautiful! I love the low-volume background fabrics.
That is such a pretty quilt!
Gorgeous!
Love it! The texture from the quilting is awesome!
Oh. So. GORGEOUS!! Someone is very very lucky. 🙂
It is just beautiful. Great job!
I just adore this! The tones are soothing but not too quiet. Nice call on the longarming. Keep showing us more! And have a fab weekend.
Loving that heart quilt–so gorgeous..colors in background so low volume and lovely.. hugs, Julierose
I love the soft colors of the quilt! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Another love! What kind of batting do you use? Your quilts always look so snuggly!
I love your pixelated heart quilts, and this one looks so good in 'bed size'!. Great idea to keep a backlog of quilts, all the best for the arrival of your new baby!!
Love it especially the background fabrics. A heart quilt is also on my to do list! Yours are really cool 🙂
Love everything about this. <3
feels like sunset.
Beautiful quilt. it makes me happy.
that is soooooooooo beautiful!
Another beautiful quilt!! I just may have to use up my stash and do one myself, as you are very inspirirng!!
I heart it. Especially with the swirl quilting.
I love it. I've been wanting to make a heart quilt for awhile but I have so many of my own WIP's that I just can't do it yet. Maybe I'll make a wall hanging size soon.
What a beautiful quilt.
It's beautiful! Hope that all goes well with the last bit of pregnancy and delivery of your babe.
I shared this today on my blog's Facebook page. Great quilt!
This is beautiful and you just answered a question for me – would larger squares still look pixelated. I know what my next quilt will be now, so thank you.
