The last of the three quilts! This one is so NOT trendy colors, I secretly feel like it’s the underdog of the three:)
As
a child I was always drawn to the ‘ugly’ or unwanted (by my own
perception) and loved the various teddy bears and other items just
because no one else liked them. I often chose the ugly one because I
thought it’s ‘feelings’ would be hurt!
I suppose I still have remnants of that outlook which makes me defend this quilt against my own accusations of it!
What
it lacks in trendy though, it makes up for in bright puffy softness. I
hope some little girl somewhere thinks it’s the cutest. Or maybe the
ugliest!
Oh my goodness! It is a beautiful lil' quilt…and definitely will be looooved so much by a special lil girl! You did an Awesome job! I think it is fun & happy!! I love it! 🙂
Oh, it's so funny you think that this one is the underdog; I like it best! I think all the bright colors are just great.
i love this one! what did you use to tie it?
I love this quilt, I think it's really pretty. I, too, loved and chose all ugly toys just not to hurt their feelings 🙂
Such a cheerful quilt! someone somewhere will love it indeed!
I'm thinking you and I would get along fine. My sister used to tell me "you'd cuddle a coat hanger if that's all there was" . Thankfully it never came to that…..
This doesn't look ugly to me in the least. If anything, the colors remind me of Mary Englebreit's palette. Very cheery and bright!
Your quilt is verry nice. So beautiful colors. I love it.

Not trendy colours! These are fabulous colours- they play so nicely together and to think they are mostly prints – DS pieces, Kaffe and those adorable mushrooms! Trendy-bah humbug!
Hi Jolene
What is the finished size or the unfinished size of this quilt's block and the width of your strips?
Thanks
Leana
Shame…I don't think this quilt is ugly at all, it's gorgeous in fact!
Ugly? I think it's lovely! Just the sort of quilt I love to see and to make. Don't believe in "trendy" and the idea of "must have" to use the latest sets of designer fabrics. I love the idea of taking what fabrics you have, playing with the design and colour combinations and creating a warm cheerful quilt.
OhioLori called this 'fun and happy'. I think that is the greatest description 🙂 I too love the bright colours. I am so behind on 'trendy' I wouldn't know if it was or not. I just like this quilt!
So cute! What fabric did you use for the binding? I love the tiny stripe!
Cutie quilt! It will be loved and adored by its new snuggler : )
This quilt is adorable – don't hurt its feelings!!! LOL I honestly love it – a very happy quilt!
I think this is a darling quilt!
I have a memory quilt to make for my great-niece from some cotton shirts her father wore and was wondering what dimensions to cut the pieces to end up with a five or six inch square – thanks so much.
Oh, that word "trendy" – argh! Give me comforting and interesting and lovable any day. This quilt is a winner on all counts.
To me, this quilt looks very HAPPY! Great cheery colors!
It's ahead of trend! Why? Those cute big cerise ties you used!
Oooooh – that one is my favorite !!!!
I love the way you've tied this one 🙂
It's gorgeous! Not ugly 🙂 I think you have been looking at it too long. I love it and someone else certainly will too!
I have a practice when i'm making a quilt, there has to be at least one fabric that you just do not like. I find that so often, that without that one fabric the quilt would not be the same. It challenges you in your fabric selection and I also thinks it takes some of the pressure off to make the quilt "perfect". This quilt is gorgeous, I love it.
I love this quilt also! so cute! 🙂 I just love the randomness tho!..
Oh my I just adore this quilt!!! The colors are fabulous. 🙂
this is lovely. it looks so soft and cozy
I spy a lot of recent fabrics in there, I think it has a current feel, now if it were aqua and gray….
Having said that, I'm not particularly interested in making a quilt that 10 years from now someone will look at and say, "I remember 2014!" I recommend immediately tossing any negative self talk regarding this quilt. It's a beauty.
I am loving this quilt!! Wow!!!
I see a lot of fabrics in this quilt that I personally own. It's a fun snapshot of all kinds of fabric.
I love it, it is awesome
I think it's really cute. Any girl would be happy to get it even this old one. So if it needs a home send it my way. ;o)
