This quilt was a custom order, made completely from Anna Maria Horner voile. It is hand quilted, and I think it’s pretty much the only sewing I did in February.
Although I have used voile a lot on quilt backs because it makes for such a soft silky quilt, I had never made an entire quilt out of only voile. It feels amazing! I think I’m going to use all my leftover pieces as well as all my other voile to make one for ourselves.
It is twin size, approximately 60×80.
The colors are very vibrant. The design is almost scrappy, but pulled together very well.
Oh, my! That is simply…stunning! So rich. Where do you get the fabric for a quilt like that? Do you just go to the fabric store and buy a selection of half-meters? I haven't seen voile in my lqs. I've never quilted with voile…will it stand up to use & washings? Or is it more for over the back of the couch (also a necessary function!) ? I hope you don't mind all the questions! I'm so intrigued!
Oh! It's very cozy! Love it!
Its gorgeous, I love it!
Lovely quilt. I bet it's so soft and snuggly.
This is such a lovely and colorful quilt. I did a double take because it looks like your quilt holder has 3 hands.
So many gorgeous fabrics. Beautiful quilt.
Looks amazing and would feel unbelievably soft! What thread did you choose for the hand quilting?
Looks gorgeous.I handquilting too ,it`s very relaxing.
Very pretty – love the combination of great fabrics.
Beautiful! I can imagine how just how soft it is.
beautiful!
Lovely quilt that they will enjoy forever.
even from the photos you can tell how scrumptious the fabric will feel!
So gorgeous!
I agree with Samantha!
This is really beautiful. I have some AMH voile and I should really just cut it all up into squares and make a soft quilt like this one.
So that's what you've been up to! It's beautiful, which is kind of a given when you (and I do mean YOU, Jolene) use AMH. Very nicely staged in the photos, too!
beautiful! you have a signature colour, not sure if you're aware of it. It's the curry powder colour of the binding – I really love how it's warm and bright at the same time. It's a hard colour to find but you use it beautifully.
