As the year comes to an end, I thought I’d share a little update on my sewing room projects. Life is still very full of preparations and Christmas activities but by this time next week I hope to be doing some more quilting. The beginning of a new year always inspires me to finish up projects and take inventory of what I plan to do next.
I finished my Winterville quilt top, although you may notice I changed it up abit from the original pattern. I left off the final border of houses and snowflakes and rather added a piano key border all the way around. Then I used the house pattern from my Scrap Quilt Diary book and made it rectangular by putting them on the top and bottom.
So I want to quilt and finish this quilt and also the Summerville top that I made this summer. (could I accomplish this before the New Year?)
Here I am pinning my second Bramble Blooms quilt top. Although there are no photos to show you just yet, I’ve actually completely finished both Bramble Blooms quilts, so I just need to photograph them and then I’ll share them here. Now I’m ready for the third Bramble Blooms prompt to start the final quilt!
I randomly started this little quilt top and it’s taking up space on my design wall so I need to finish it up and hopefully quilt it soon as well!
There were a couple tops that I decided to donate to my church group to use as blanket for charity. After that, I have no more completed tops that need quilting! (there are a few partially started tops in small tubs up on the shelf, so maybe I’ll get the itch to finish those up as well). But it’s best to keep one’s expectations realistic
1That would leave me with a clean slate to start on my next book! The quilt ideas are swirling and I can’t wait to get started!
