And here’s my second border on my Bramble Blooms #2 quilt. My first thought after making the center was that an appliquéd vine would be perfect. Then when the next prompt was given, it was mentioned that the final border would include vines. I knew that I wanted this border to not be very busy, as the center has a lot of movement and the vines on the final border will also have a lot of movement.
I had to think about this one for awhile, but for the first time I really thought about what I wanted the next border to possibly look like and chose my fabrics accordingly. I decided to add baskets in the corners just because I like baskets.
And there you have it! Now it will sit till the next prompt… there’s not shortage of other quilts to work on meanwhile.

Love this! The dark border really makes the center panel glow. Can’t wait to see what the next step will look like!

Is the handle on your basket block raw edge appliqué?

I love it! I went in a similar directions with lots of little squares but I did a low volume border so it can be part of the appliqué section.

I love this! The brighter colors are so happy and the 16-patches wrapping around the corners are so whimsical. I was glad for the hint at border #2, as it helped me decide on what I was doing with this prompt as well. I’m so glad I joined this challenge – seeing what everyone else is making is so inspiring!
