Finally a completed quilt to show you! I had planned to hand quilt this one, but finally my need to get a few tops finished up made me decide to just go with my usual straight line quilting by machine. Honestly I like the look of it very much and it seems to make for a soft quilt as well. AND I can have it quilted in a day or two rather than a month!

I did decide to finish off the binding by hand with Perle cotton thread. Putting on the binding by hand adds another element of texture and also makes the edge of the quilt extra floppy and soft, which I always love.

I really really though I couldn’t give this quilt up… but now that it’s hung in the closet for awhile, I’m of course thinking about the next one and ready to send it on to a new home where it can be loved.

These houses though…

The pattern to make them is in my book, Scrap Quilt Diary, on Amazon.

The back is a mix of pink cotton prints…
And it’s for sale in my Etsy shop.
I also decided to add a few more quilts which I hadn’t thought I could part with but which now are taking up space in my guest bedroom which is needed more for other things, so your lucky day if you like one of them! There are some baby quilts this time too!
Your use of color is just amazing! I always get kind of excited when I see it’s a new email from you, and I’m never disappointed. This is another new favorite of mine to make… someday. Sigh. 😉
What a sweet quilt! I just love the red scallops, the tiny blanket stitches the cozy houses framed with scrappy dark squares surrounded by pink blocks with dark diamond twinkle ⭐️🫶🥰☕️ I absolutely love it
what a beautiful finish! I got to get mine finished up !
It’s just darling!
I love this quilt! I just bought your book Scrap Quilt Diary (I, also, have your first book). I plan on making this quilt.
You have such a way of putting color and fabrics together. I’m jealous, lol!!
I do look forward to reading your blog.
