Briar Rose quilt is complete! I used 2.5″ strips to make the nine patch blocks. Blocks should be 6.5″ unfinished.
Cut your white background squares to 6.5″ as well. For your little green star points, cut 2.5″ squares and sew them onto the corners of your blocks.
Kind of a nice old fashioned pattern. Edited to add: I realized after writing this that Thimbleblossoms has a pattern similiar to this, so if you’d like to make this quilt with a nice and well drawn out pattern, you can buy it here.
I used this yellow Anna Maria Horner Voile on the back. It was handy since this quilt top ended up being 50″ wide and voile is wider than quilting cotton.
I adore this print, and am feeling the panicky need to go out and buy some more to restock. This warm yellow is a color I find so useful. But I’m trying to resist fabric purchases unless absolutely necessary. I’ve been appalled lately by my teetering stacks of fabric and am determined NOT to feel the the desperate need for new stuff!
Right now, the only future collection that I know I’m going to cave on is Catnap by Lizzy House. Usually it’s Denyse Schmidt that I can’t resist, but this time it’s those kitties, and the colors!

Beautiful quilt! Haha, I understand you well, I feel the same about my stash! AND Catnap! Lizzy House fabrics are always among my favourites and the kitties and mice and butterflies are just so great.

Gosh idk if you will even see this comment, but by any chance do you recall what fabrics you made the corner triangles out of? That might be a million dollar question, I know I lose track of my solids but can't hurt to ask!
Jolene says
Hi Anne! I hope you see this, as your account is set to no reply. I think that the lighter minty green is Kona Pond, the darker sage green is Kona Olive, and the jade green is Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton in Cactuas.
