One might be excused in thinking that I liked a bear paw quilt block! I seem to have been using it the last year… anyways this quilt came about in a slightly different manner for me in that I first saw a new fabric line which I fell for. This was the Christmas collection called Christmas In the City by Art Gallery Fabrics. The little town scenes and the cozy fireplace in a slightly unusual color scheme just made me buy a few fat quarters from the collection.
Then, I was faced with how to make it. I felt like these fabrics did not need a busy design so I decided to use this free pattern called Wash Your Paws. It’s a great pattern to put together a quilt quickly and I decided that the design here is reminiscent of a wrapped gift, which is perfect for Christmas!
It is backed with a cream coloured plush fabric, and I also had this one quilted on a long arm. I did have it listed in my shop, but now it’s on the way to it’s new home!
