In searching through my quilt photo archives, here’s another one I found that I never blogged about. I made it about 1.5 years ago. And I wonder if I didn’t share it because it’s quite similar to another one that I made and blogged about. I made the Penny Patch(ish) quilt, and really loved it. Then someone reached out and asked if I’d make one for them as well.
I rarely have any desire to repeat a pattern, but I said I would on this one. I had enjoyed making it a lot and didn’t feel quite done with the pattern.
I’ll share a photo side by side of these two quilts, for interest’s sake
The one on the left with the green sofa is the original, and the one on the right is the one I made a year later. Of course, the lighting in the photos is slightly different, but it’s interesting to note their differences. When I made the second one, the first one was long gone, so I just went by the same idea of darker colors vs lighter colors.
I really think this is a design I’d happily make again! If you click on this link it will take you to my original post where I have some simple directions on how to make this block. Penny Patch(ish) Quilt also called Double Four Patch.

Love your quilts, and hand quilting too, an art I hope, is making a come back. I have been quilting most of my life, just for family and half of mine are quilted by hand. At 77 I have slowed down a bit still enjoy learn more about this craft, especially how you chose colours, yes I love my own mix like you do. Thank you for sharing your talent.

This is the quilt I’d be thrilled to find buried in a pile of blankets at a flea market and I mean that as a compliment. Also, the quilt I’m interested in recreated. Lovely.
