I’ve been waiting for a chance to get more photos of this finished quilt, but it doesn’t seem to happen. So here are a few ‘thrown over the table’ glances. I really will get some better pics before I pack it up and send it off.
One very sweet block…
and a good shot of the quilting. I’d never done this loopy quilting before and I found it to be the easiest free motion quilting I’ve ever done! I think it’s a natural motion because of all that cursive writing I had to do back in grade school. I’d really recommend it as a starting point if you’re trying free motion quilting for the first time. All I can say is that ‘stippling’ (where the line don’t cross each other) does not come as naturally as these loops.
And I was going to show you more of this one, but the pictures all turned out fuzzy and terrible, so it will have to wait for some more sunshine, and a quiet moment.

I'm in love with that first quilt, especially the block with the fussy cut sheep in the center of the star. The quilt has a really dreamy feel. And those owls in the second quilt are too cute! Thanks for the tip on loopy quilting. I've been afraid to try FMQ but maybe that will be one I can start with.

I'm new to FMQing and that's something that I've found too… loop de loops are so much easier to control than stippling/meandering.
From the glimpses you've given, that quilt is going to be lovely.

Like the first one. Love the loopy quilting. But LOVE the second quilt. Can't wait to see the rest!

So lovely! I've got to try that loopy quilting. I often do a sort of meandering loopy stipple that, I agree, comes much more easily than not crossing the lines.

I have glimpsed, I have oohed, I have ahhhed but I would like to see a bit more, please!

Beautiful quilts and quilting! I need to give that big loopy quilting a try- looks fast and easy!!

Oh, wow! I cannot WAIT to see more of these quilts! These little sneak peeks just aren't enough. I've been less than successful at my attempts at FMQ so I think the loops may be the answer to making me more confident. Let's hope so, anyway! Thanks for the tip!

I love those kind of loops too and like to make itty bitty ones on lines sometimes.

Ya know, I keep putting off trying FMQ mostly because of the stippling thing. However, I WILL try the loops!
