I have been writing this blog post in my head for quite a while…
and if this computer screen was a piece of paper, these words would be smudged with a few tears…
but if life is a journey, and if i stay on the path that I’m meant to follow, then I find myself at a slight bend in the road. a bend that seems to be leading me away from this blog. i guess to say it more clearly, i’m taking an extended blog/social media break
but maybe that road will curve again some day and i’ll find myself back here again…
who knows?! if i’ve learned one thing it’s to never say never.
and if this seems a bit cryptic and mysterious, i’m sorry! it’s just too hard to explain, but no need to worry about me, everything’s good, and i’ll maybe explain a bit more yet since i’ll be stopping in here for a month or so till all my current obligations are finished up.
and i want to give tribute to all you wonderful, splendifourous bloggy quilting folks out there. i just never could have guessed at the generosity and inspiration that i would find…
but more on that later!
We will miss you so much and I wish you the best in the near future!

Jolene! You will be missed, holy cats! I always love your style and photography. There's a certain ease about it that I love. But I am glad to know that you are taking time away from blogging. I'm sure you have a mountain full of wonderful reasons. I know two very small but enthusiastic reasons why I should stop blogging, maybe I'll follow my gut one of these days…

Jolene, I love your work and your blog. I will definitely miss seeing you share your sewing in this space. That said, I have to say that I completely understand. I myself recently took a blogging break of three months. I have since returned, but my goals and intentions in blogging have drastically changed (and I confess I still have an almost-daily internal debate about continuing). There are so many great things about blogging–so much beauty and so many online friends I love so much–but at the same time, I do feel like I've witnessed a change in blogging in general over the years, and I'm not always convinced things are moving in a positive direction. (Sometimes I feel like it's all just getting too weird, or too fake, or…something. You know? I'm very conflicted.) Anyway, I just wanted to leave you a comment to say hello, say thank you, and send you my best wishes. Good luck to you in your future endeavors!!

This is so interesting to me – many of us having trouble prioritizing when we may have started an online life to find community and to inspire and be inspired. I've thought a lot about all this having just started a blog. Now I wonder why and for who. Is it really for me? What satisfies my creative side and how do I pair that with my crazy-busy parenting life side? I will miss your blog… 🙁 I LOVE your style and your work is so very inspiring! I don't blog – but i get wanting a break from social media, which is both a blessing and a curse. I've learned SO much from scouring the net & creative blogs – but I'm starting to see myself withdraw from the world around me (ie, my kids…) because of my need to constantly 'check in'. I wish you all the best – your work truly is beautiful.. 🙂 For me, I think i'll go on a bit of a social media diet.. Spend more time playing pretend, instead of pretending i'm listening..
