This quilt started as a few leftover blocks from my previous fall quilts. I wasn’t loving it, but decided to dilute the very rust and blue color scheme by gradually adding more fabrics in other colours as I continued out from the centre.
It worked! I really like the finished quilt. It still has a color scheme, but has enough of the scrappy vintage look that it doesn’t look too perfect.
Design wise, I made the centre of the diamond offset, and then decided to add a row of flying geese along the left side. Fairly subtle, but it’s those little unexpected things that elevate a traditional design.
Beautiful finish. I like your added touches.
How clever with the flying geese row along the left side!! I love stuff like that, in older quilts, one block out of kilter, they make me imagine about the maker and what happened there! Love it!!
As always – love your color sense and design. Just beautiful!
It’s got that fabulous vintage comfy goodness look, love it!
That’s a beautiful quilt. I am so tired of all of the white background quilts and all the sashing. That looks antique but you can machine wash it!
Love it 🙂
This quilt speaks of comfort, cuddling and home. Very nice!
Wow, I really love this quilt!
It's SEW cozy looking!! Congrats on another wonderful quilt. The BEST part? You used up some leftovers!
it's delicious!! i have an offset diamond hst quilt i've been working on for years. well, i started it years ago. i haven't worked on it in several. it's a really nice effect.
This is so beautiful! I'm in the planning stages of figuring out a scrappy half square triangle quilt. Mind if I ask what size each of your HST are?
