Item #1 You guys are all SO sweet. Every comment that came in from my last post made me just want to hug each and every one of you, (and I am not a huggy person, just ask my mom) Thanks for being so kind and understanding!
Item #2 The ‘obligations’ I mentioned that I would be finishing up here just so happen to involve a fair bit of yummy fabric that I will do my best to entice you with over the next week or two!
So, if you remember, awhile back I showed you a quilt I’d made from Laurie Wisbrun’s Brrr! fabric line. There are two color groups, the turquoise and red, and the green and red. So here’s my take on the green and red!
A little confession here: I’m not really a fan of seasonal decor, which includes Christmas! So these Christmasey colors just weren’t inspiring me in a quilty way (although I have a feeling they’d make a great quilt if you just happen to be a little more normal than me!)
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to give my Christmas gifts to friends and family in some uber-awesome handmade gift bags that can be reused for any purpose, and are actually a gift in themselves!
I used Jeni’s tutorial for these bags, and then just changed the sizes for a few of them.
So that’s my take on the perfect way to use this fabric! Which will be out in June by-the-way. Which will be just in time for you to sew up in lots of time for Christmas by-the-way! Have I convinced you?! I hope so!!
Ohhhhh!!! I almost forgot!!!! I have a fat quarter bundle of this ENTIRE set to give to send to one of you. I messed up and forgot to get a photo of it, but believe me, it’s a pretty sweet little bundle. Just leave me a comment on this post, and you’ll be entered to win!
I’ll draw a name on Monday morning!

I love this fabric, especially the polar bear. I often wish my house was decorated less Christmasy (I'm not sure how to make that a proper word). My husband is a Christmas fanatic. The interior of our house is like visiting a Christmas shop. Secular and religious decorations frolic together. Even though I sweetly tell family members that we really don't need any more decorations, they continue to bring them. Luckily, things look completely normal from the outside.

Just found your blog and love it! There're are so many questions I'd like to ask… What kind of batting do you like to use? I'd like a tutorial on the gray/white zig zag you just posted. Also one on the starburst quilt blocks you did way back on your blog for Do. Good. Stitches, I think… Sad to see you go, but I understand! Sometimes I spend far too much time looking at blogs for quilt ideas etc, instead of just getting started, if that makes any sense! rhondajoy84@yahoo

I'm so sad that I just found your blog last week, although, I have to admit that I went through all of your posts! You have such wonderful ideas and, as I begin my foray into quilting, I will definitely use them! I'd love to get my hands on some awesome fabric to start with!
My father is the sewer in the family, and as a gift to me for getting engaged (yay!) and moving to another state with my fiance at the tender age of 21 (double yay!) he's giving me his beloved Kenmore sewing machine from the 70s. It's a beast and will surely see me through as I try to make a living as a quilter.
I'd love to get some of this fabric, I already have some cute ideas in mind for it. Although, with as many people commenting, I'm sure it'll never happen… regardless, I wish you the very best! Have a happy Sunday
