The fever is upon me to finish up all my in-progress quilts… I start to feel a bit claustrophobic when I’ve got too many things on the go. I never used to let this happen, but these days the amount of new ideas in my head far outweighs the amount of time available to execute them. When I do have a bit of time I feel like working on something I’m excited about at the moment.
But the best of ideas become muddled when you have the slight guilt of that last quilt top that you never quite finished, and then you can’t find anything because the stack of stuff on the table is so perilously high… And it feels so good to finish stuff up and clean up the closet.
So here goes! Hopefully you’ll be seeing more finished quilts soon!

I am so completely feeling this right now! If I get more than three sewing projects going at once it is a little overwhelming to keep in check along with all the other stuff in my life. I feel so much calmer and more creative when my sewing space is free of unfinished projects and things needing attention that I don't necessarily want to give them. I can't wait to see all of your finished quilts and your beginnings of new ones!

Oh I love a good clean up!! I should clarify here …. I don't do clean ups very often. I just finished up a project and some bee blocks and need to clean and re-group before I can continue on with my one remaining WIP. You've inspired me and I'm looking forward to a good clean up this weekend.

Ha Ha! My verify word was "defugg." That just sounds like a good clean up word …..

I know the feeling!! And sometimes when I come back to something I have forgotten what exactly I was planning to do with the pieces!!

I get exactly the same feeling!

I know exactly how you feel! So many times your posts have resonated with me, and I feel like I could have written them myself. I keep feeling bogged down by all the projects I want to make and don't have time for, and all the projects I have started and want to finish, but I feel desperate to start the new things! I've been thinking a bit about just letting myself do what I feel like when I have time to sew, but of course the WIP pile weighs on my mind. Well said, and I hope the "clean up" is going well!

I've got the fever at the moment too. I'm on a mission to finish up what I can because all my WIPs are making me claustrophobic too!

Ah yes, I can understand that feeling! I felt like that last week – too many WIPs plus a mounting pile of fabric already designated for projects! I just had to get something out of the way by either finishing or ripping it out (in the case of my knitting). I have finished a knitted blanket (40" x 70") which I have posted on my blog; and have two projects on the floor beside me waiting to be ripped later today! (I can do that when I'm reading blogs but not while I'm typing!) I feel so much better now! Hope you feel less claustrophobic soon!

Oh I so agree. I like to be able to check things off. I love a good clean up and round up of clutter too. Can't wait to see what you finish- I am sure I will love it!

You’ve inspired me to make a list of all of my projects, which immediately freaked me out because I had over 10!! right now. I didn’t know that, I like to have a small number of WIP at a time going on. Anyways, thanks for the shot in the arm. I’ve been on a fabric buying spree recently, and those new purchases want to be used, but I need to finish what I’ve started 🙂

I love that glimpse. My secret is to set up my machine for quilting – that way I don't get tempted to start piecing a new project. Although I'm trying to ignore the fact that I could always use my second machine for piecing if I get desperate.
