Not sure what is wrong with me lately, but i can’t think of anything to say:) I’ve got so much quilty stuff going on right now, but it’s not quite ready to come out, I guess…
This little zigzag quilt was made awhile ago and is already sold, but I thought I’d show it to you today. I started with the backing fabric (an Alexander Henry print, AH has the BEST novelty prints). I just loved this fabric, but I was stumped on what to put with it. I decided something really simple would be the best, so I did another chevron/zigzag in lime and white. And then that stripe just happened to make the perfect binding. In the end, I just loved this one, and I think it’s a very successful design to really showcase your backing fabric. I just wish it wasn’t quite so boring to sew!!
I have a real problem with sewing a whole bunch of same kind, same color pieces together. I love these miminalist simple designs, but I can only make them in small doses! So back to sewing bright, wild and scrappy stuff for me!

I'm binding one of these guys right now, and I'm pretty much hooked on this style, especially for baby quilts! (I use the tute that involves no triangles)

I didn't realise that there was a tuturial for a non-triangle chevron! Please share.

Love, love, LOVE this one!!
This may be my first time posting here but I've been lurking for quite awhile. You inspired me to finally tackle my very first quilting project this summer- it's all finished but for the binding!
Did I mention that I really love this little green ziz zag quilt? 🙂

I feel the same way…I love simple but please don't make me make the same block or use the same colors except in small doses like to end up with a quilt like this!! Love the lime, love the chevrons!

Oh, it's so pretty! Simple, but not boring to look at. Sorry it was boring to make, but it definitely paid off! Love that backing too. You've officially inspired me to make a zig zag quilt.

That can be a difficult one to balance. Simple and beautiful or complex and overwhelming. Love the combination of bold solid front and cute printed back.

I have that feeling too but with everything, making one is funny, making two… not so funny for me.
Love the back fabric too! It fits perfectly here.
And I want to show you what you inspires, thank you. Not so beautiful, but fabric remnants will have its propose too 🙂

I love chevron quilts.

Love the chevron. Agree about AH! Agree about sewing the same thing–a little monotonous while you are doing it, although it is usually worthwhile when done. I think that's why I tend to be a scrappy quilter…
This quilt is so fun–the combination of the chevron, backing and binding–just perfect!

Love it!! I sometimes buy a fabric because I think it will make a great quilt back. And then I am stumped as to what to put on the front (kind of a backwards way of doing it, don't you think) I love your minimalist and colorful approach and am going to try it! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

Oh, I love how you started with the background fabric first! I have this same fabric and am inspired to re-create your little chevron for myself! Do you have any idea who makes that stripe fabric that fits so perfectly with the AH fabric? I'd love to know.
Thank you for your inspiration here!
