I made a Penny Patch Quilt! This quilt is the opposite of the my last one, so relaxing to put together because it’s just nice squares and no matter how you mix them, they’ll look good. (ok, except somehow I mistakenly got a big row of light colored squares all together which does not look great, but this quilt won’t be hung on the wall so it won’t be noticed)
I’d like to direct you to Rachel of Stitched in Color who is doing this quilt pattern is a beginner friendly quiltalong. She has detailed posts about every step of the way, it’s recommended reading. Find it here.
I know this is a pattern I’ll visit again, since it’s a classic design which would look good in so many different fabric combos.

Beautiful! I'm making a Christmas table runner using the same two blocks and surrounding them with 4" stars – luvin' it, but think it would be fun to do in a larger size like this too.

lovely as always! With the deer fabrics, your color choices and the simple style, this quilt has a bit of a man-vibe. I mean that in a good way! Could be a good father/grandfather gift. Your quilting looks great! Would it be ok for me to share a photo of your quilt (with link) in my upcoming post on straight line quilting options? I'm sure folks will be inspired. Also, you backed it with that AMH voile in toast. Swoon. I love that particular color, even though it is brown.

So beautiful! I love Rachels pattern and your fabrics and colours! Your colours are more to 'earth' than I usually use, but I think I shall use more brown as it looks so great in your quilt! x Teje

you have some very yummy fabrics choices in here! i really like how you have the penny patches going in both directions, not just left to right, through out the quilt. this makes the pattern more interesting, i think. i did it on accident in 3 squares and I'm glad i did because of the effect. i plan to do that more purposefully in my next penny patch. yes, there will be a next one because, like you, i think it's a classic pattern that should be revisited. very nice work!

It's wonderful! Wasn't it a fun quilt to make? I did one, too but haven't been able to carve out time to get it quilted yet.

I love it! And I would have never noticed the white squares if you hadn't said anything. I am planning on making one of these with some scraps sometime soon, it's such a nice pattern.

Hi penny. This reminds me of a quilt I made for my son. What makes it a penny patch? Do you have a pattern? I love your selection of colors.

I'm attempting to machine quilt my top now.
I love the pattern too and can see myself making more. I will hand tie it over machine like I do all my others though.
