I wanted my four-year-old daughter to have a quilt that would exactly fit the top of her bed so that it would be easy for her to make in the morning. No tucking in or special maneouvers, just pull it straight and the bed is made!
I decided on simple patchwork in fun colors. I used the vintage strawberry shortcake sheet on the back as a bit of guidance on color choices, but mostly just kept it pretty scrappy.
I used two layers of that puffy polyester batting in the middle, and tied it with bright pink yarn. Need I say that it is very soft and squishy?

I love this one! It has such a great vintage vibe, and not just because of the adorable Strawberry Shortcake backing. Maybe it's the combination of colors Nd prints? I don't know, but the late '70s/early '80s girl in me digs it!

So cute! My twin girls have the same bed. They are so girly and cute! We also have vintage SSC on their beds in the form of fleece blankets.

This is perfection! Squishy is good! Teaching your kids basic chores is so important. My children loved contributing to doing the household chores. A little bit of praise for her bed making chore goes a long way. You are pretty smart mom
