These first two blocks were made for the month of May in the do.Good Stitches quilt bee. Mary asked for scraptastic blocks, and since I love this type of piecing, I couldn’t wait to start! I made them entirely from my scrap bin, just sewing small pieces together to make one larger block.
Of course, when I happened to read her instructions over once again (AFTER I had made my blocks) I notice that she mentioned they should be crazy quilt inspired. Now, mine are more straight lines. I have a real problem with enthusiastically ignoring instructions, but I hope these will look ok with the finished quilt.
These next two were for Charlie in the Fresh Modern Bee. He gave us lots of room to do whatever we liked. Hmmm… that’s kind of tough. He mentioned curves, so I practiced some more wavy piecing on the first one.
And then since the need to make some cross blocks is still in my system, I made this one. Ok, I still might have to make a whole quilt like this yet!

I love them all and wish I had a few hours to work on something so charming!

Love them all. You are like me, too anxious to get started to read the instructions. I like what you have done and think it's good you made your own design.

I love all the blocks. And the expression "enthusiastically ignoring instructions."
Aren't cross blocks fun? I've got more in me, too.

Oh my, I'm an enthusiastic non-instruction-following quilter too. It's funny too, because I like instructions and such, but I get so excited sometimes I completely forget to use them. 🙂 Anyway, I just adore these blocks, especially the Fresh Modern Bee ones, love those curves, they look so sophisticated! 🙂

I love the curved pieced block, curves, colors and all. As more freedom I have to do the harder it is for me to choose what to do.

I had a go at scrappy patchwork myself – its such a great feeling knowing you're only using up scraps!

When I saw these pictures pop up on today's downloads on flickr on my iPhone (whew, sorry for the long intro…) I could hardly wait to get to your blog and see them more closely. Fabulous!! I'm so happy with Parisville. I wish I had purchased more of it.
