Another completed quilt from the Simply Retro book. I made fewer blocks than the original, because I wanted a baby quilt. Also, there are four different styles of houses and I left out the pinwheel houses, because I wanted a simpler look.
This is a fun pattern to sew and I can see making it in some sweet old fashioned calicoes next time…
I did 3×3 houses and because the house blocks are taller than wide, the quilt ended up at 34″x42″ after washing.
The back is a shot cotton which makes it extra soft.
This is lovely! What do you use for batting? It looks like the softest, cuddliest quilt!
You gave those houses so much character it's a perfect baby quilt.
Such a lovely little quilt, those houses are so charming! 🙂
I always love a good house design. I often change the size of a quilt by altering the number of blocks, especially as I am rather fond of small size quilts. Congrats on your fun quilt. x
Super cute baby quilt! Love all the chimneys in red!
Beautiful. I love the pattern and the colours you chose. I'd give it a home, but my little guy is too old. 😉

Lovely house quilt. The book Simply Retro looks very interesting.
How cute! I'd be interested in hearing what kind of batting you used on this one too. I like how soft and cuddly it looks.
I have been looking for a black and white stripe for binding like you used on the cute house quilt. Do you know where you purchased it, and the name of the fabric? Thanks, Sharron

Love, love, love, it, especially the house with the doggy in the doorway. 💕
Love the fabric choices as usual…. Very fun and retro….
In love as usual : ) Very sweet. Thank you for always inspiring us
Great!
I love the coloured little houses!
So, so cute!
Congrats!

What a cute quilt. I especially love the dog fabric.
Those houses are really sweet!
Made a very cute baby quilt! Congrats on a wonderful finish.
Love this quilt. I also looked at some of your other quilts, and Love Summer Days too. Is that an original design? Congratulations on a great finish.
I meant Summer Sundays.
Love it.
Love the red chimneys! Such a great color palette for an updated baby quilt. Some lucky baby is going to love this!
It looks great!
I love this!!
Ok, this pattern just went on my list … I absolutely love your version 🙂
Something I love about a lot of your quilts, and this one, is the puffy, soft, comfortable look (and I'm guessing feel) of them! I love that the quilting is not too dense, bc it make the quilt look so snuggly!!
this is so darling.
You have just the best eye for colourways and pattern combinations! I've been stalking your blog hardcore this weekend, looking for inspiration for my next quilt. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work!! 🙂
Finally got Simply Retro from the library- it's such a lovely book. I like your idea of sewing through a whole book. I have no idea which book I would do!
Very, very prety guilts. Love you this nice blog 🙂
I always love your quilts. I love your colour choices. I really believe that this makes all the difference. Some people have the flare Which you obviously do. I'm interested to know how much time you spend on fabric choice. I think sometimes I over analyse mine.
I have been making a few quilts from the same book– Vintage and Baby Love– and this one is next on my list. I love yours! Thanks for always being a source of inspiration!!! I love everything you make!!!
Bonjour
Très joli !
C’est le livre simply retro de Camille Roskelley ? J’ai vu plusieurs livres ou magazines appelés comme ça .
