Remember back when I decided to quilt through a book? You can read about it here if you like. Anyways, I did make every quilt but one in that book. I just forgot to blog about the last two quilts so I’ll show them to you now, even though they were made and sold many months ago.
This first one is called ‘Vintage’. This block reminds me a bit of the granny square block, but constructed differently. I also downsized it ALOT. I really like this smaller version of the block! The strips in the original were 4″, and I think I made them 2″, so the blocks will have ended up around 12″.
This quilt was an nice way to use up this border fabric. Some of these prints are so beautiful, but when they’re such distinctive colors they’re never quite right for blending into the quilt I’m making. So they almost need their own quilt! I think I started with this border print and chose the other fabrics to coordinate.
The last quilt I made from this book was “Fresh”. I also downsized this block and changed the layout. The original was a full sized quilt made out of just this block. Although I really like that original design, I think I was getting a bit lazy and didn’t want to make a large quilt unless I really loved it.
I had a few mini charm packs of reproduction fabrics so I put them all together in this quilt.
I was going to wax eloquent here on this entire project of quilting through a book. I’ve decided to rather write a separate post compiling all the quilts together in collage. So I’ll end with this one for now! If you want to see all the quilts I made in this book, click on “Quilt the Book” label in my sidebar.
