A simple quilt made stars and 16 patch blocks. I tried out some free motion floral quilting on this one. A small quilt is such a perfect place to practice since you have minimal stress from pulling and tugging all that fabric through your machine.
The backing fabric is an unusual choice, but I think it works!

I love the colours, as with so many quilts, that you make. I still try to figure out, what exactly it is, that I love so much, this orange kind of yellow? or is it the combination with aqua? I'm looking forward to seeing more of your quilts!

Great design idea! I keep wondering about making a 16 patch quilt, but never quite convinced enough… I'd definitely make one like this!
2 1/2 yrs ago I started to quilt, in large part, because of a picture of your star quilt hung over the side rails of your crib. It remains a key inspiration for me. Today's quilt reminds me of the creative hope your clear, pure designs plant in my hands and heart. Thank you!

You have such a talent for colour. I've just made a bunch of 16-patch blocks with the intention of making stars for every other block. Then I realised I have no idea how to make star blocks the same size as the 16 patches so I switched to something else. And that's why you're the superstar quilt blogger and I'm the novice who dreams of making quilts like yours one day!
