The coloring for this quilt was inspired by the large floral print in the second photo. There are quite a few prints in this quilt from the collection Freshcut by Heather Bailey. (including that floral) Of course I added quite a few more.
I made my own version of an x and o quilt. I had this idea for an X shape inside a square. I fiddled with it till I had the block just perfect to be made with a charm square and half a jelly roll strip. Then I decided to make a few O’s, which also worked out with a charm square and a jelly roll strip.
So I thought maybe I should make a simple pattern out of it, but realized after looking around a bit that there are plenty of x and o quilt patterns out there already! Yah, that seems to be how it goes for me with pattern writing!
Anyways, I like this little quilt, although it’s not colors I’d choose for myself. Funny how I like sewing lots of different color combos together, but really there’s only a few that I would choose to go with my home decor. Hopefully this little guy will be perfect for somebody’s color scheme!

I love this pattern. I haven't seem an x's and o' pattern as nice as this one (I like the x's being inside the square, instead of going to the very edge). If you aren't making a pattern, do you know of one that's similar to yours?

you have no idea how useful is this quilt for me. I just find the back fabric and decided not to use it for curtains, so I had no clue what to do with it because of its extended flower scale. Too large for small projects and for quilt pieces. And I also love the colors of the print, so it's a perfect choice to make – the back of a little quilt :). And the pattern you made is so pretty!

I ADORE your little X and O quilt and would be thrilled to make one using your design block. Won't you please give us a tutorial?
Rachel says
The O's in this quilt are perfect! You most certainly have something here!
Verna Groger says
I haven't found any X and O quilt pattern nearly as pretty as this. I would love to make one if you wrote up the pattern, but just a block tutorial would be super. I can imagine adding a few X's and O's in with lots of other design schemes – everyone loves Hugs and Kisses! (and it's a perfect name for the pattern. 🙂

So cute! There may be lots of similar quilts out there, but you always choose such pretty and unique color combinations that make your quilts really stand out and this is no exception 🙂
