Yay! First of all I want to say that the pattern is now available in my Etsy shop! Link here. I’m so happy I found a couple of talented pattern writing people to help me and so I hope you find it to be a fun pattern to make!
I made a category just for this pattern and the quilts I make for it, so if you look under the category tabs on my blog, you’ll find all the posts relating to this quilt. I plan to soon post more about tips etc on the applique.

Now let’s look at the third quilt I made with this pattern. I made this one with zero applique! Well, there is some applique but it was done by someone else many years ago and I just reused it in this quilt.

This one is a very different color scheme than the two previous quilts. It started with a table cloth that had these bright bouquets in blue umbrellas. Each corner of the tablecloth had a big design, and this was perfect for the big corner blocks in this quilt. You can find lots of vintage embroidered tablecloths with each corner having a feature design or applique so these are perfect for this quilt.

The taller skinny blocks next to the corner blocks are applique flowers in the original pattern. In this quilt, I used a variety of vintage linens that sort of fit the size. This lovely lady is one of them.

This vintage yellow tea towel is featured on the other side. I absolutely love this tea towel… why did I use it up here?! I don’t know, but it was just the perfect shades of yellow and blue so what could I do.

This vintage applique was another one of the tall skinny blocks…

And the fourth one was just a piece of this super cute little girl fabric. This shows you that any pretty feature fabrics could be used. Just remember the scale and value and how much they will stand out next to others around them. That’s why it’s great to lay them out and stand back before putting it all together. Sometimes the most unexpected piece works the best!

For this quilt, I used yellows and whites for all the big HST’s around the Center Star Medallion. The original has the applique petals in these corners. On this quilt, I used some more of the table cloth prints to fill in these corners.

The nine patches are a great way to fill in and merge all the colors together. And I used a vintage sheet on the back because it was just the perfect colors.
Now back to a few details about the pattern. I made it fat quarter friendly, so should you want to use a bundle, that will work fine because I also included cutting diagrams for fat quarters. I also included separate cutting and amount instructions for yardage, which is what you should use if you want to make it more scrappy.

I love these 2 versions. Especially the textured quilting on Version 2–just the thing for that particular quilt. Bravo!
Oh man. I love the vintage looking one. Great use of old embroidery blocks etc. super sweet
The third one is just stunning. your aesthetic is dreamy. Thanks for sharing with us!
