So excited about this completed quilt! It’s from the book Quilt Recipes. The pattern gives you the instructions for each block type and then the widths for each row, but there is some freedom to mix and match as you will. I know I left out and changed a couple blocks, although I can remember at this point which they were! I added a couple rows on top and bottom because I prefer my quilts to be rectangular rather than square.
The center floral print was my color inspiration. It’s a vintage sheet which I love and had been saving. The backing is also a vintage sheet which I realize I didn’t get a photo of. It’s a very soft and snuggly lap sized quilt though!

Just beautiful! I like how you added length. I’m not a fan of square quilts, either. Thanks for sharing.

I am always excited when I find that you have a new post because I love your unique intuitive designs. They are so spectacular in their simplicity. Because to me, they are also quite complex and lure me right in. This is another beauty, and I am sure it will find its way to a loving home.

I used to believe that anything goes in a scrappy quilt. Then find that those ugly bits that I felt obligated to use contribute nothing and don’t blend unobtrusively like I thought they would, and attract attention that never ceases to annoy me. Lesson learned. Your quilts have taught me not to do that anymore. Frugality is not worth the cost of obstructing beauty. I hope you don’t mind that I’ve made one of your quilts my desktop background–I love looking at it every day. I don’t know its name, it’s entirely half-square triangles and nine-patch. Sounds simple, until it’s put together by an artist such as yourself and becomes something magical and awesome.
