I’ve always loved those crocheted granny square throws, but I don’t know how to crochet…
I decided to use my 2.5″ squares to make a quilt inspired by this look. I’m hoping that sashing them with a nice wide white strip will give them the look I’m going for.
For years I've dreamed of writing a book about quilting. The type of book that I've felt is completely missing from the quilting world. More photos and inspiration, and less technical details and pages of writing. I've tried to accomplish that with my first book, which is self published and full of quilts, simple patterns, lots of talk about the quilts... and well, maybe that's enough for this paragraph! I have done some crocheting and I like the 'granny square' idea. But give me fabric and a rotary cutter anytime over yarn and a hook! (just a preference….) I just may have to give this idea a try……

Ah, crocheting is so much more relaxing too. I like hand embroidery and crocheting…cause I can be in 'the middle of things' and sit with the fam in the living room…rather than tucked away in my corner muttering frustrations at my sewing machine!
