Oh, this one was so fun to make! I’ll admit it’s a lot of color. Not for everyone, but this pattern is definitely one I plan to revisit. I already have a stack of muted blues and greens to make another one like it. There are so many fun fabrics in here that I like. And the pattern allows for a lot of different fabrics while still having some cohesion and a traditional feel because of the Bear Paw pattern. I didn’t use a pattern for this, but here are super basic sizes.
HST’s-cut at 2 7/8″. (trim to 2 1/2″ once made into half square triangles)
squares for the bear paws – cut 2 1/2″
Center strips – cut 1 1/2″ wide
Black center square – cut 1 1/2″
sashing strips – 2 1/2″ wide
This is a smaller lap quilt, at 45″x62″. Next time I’d make it bigger!

That is a beautiful quilt! Your scrappy version is so fun and pretty. Thank you for sharing your measurements. I think all my bearpaws will be scrappy from now on.

Love this! Are the block background and sashing any mix of “warm colors” with blue for the paws and green for the paw block center strips? Thanks so much for measurements:)

This is my kind of quilt! Love it! You sure are good at manipulating warm and cool and one can use up lots more scraps within that. It’s beautiful and exciting–can’t stop looking at it.
